About Asef
Asef blends improvisation, jazz, and Middle Eastern influences into a sound that’s both
soulful and exploratory. The ensemble’s performances are marked by spontaneous dialogue
and cross-cultural interplay — where rhythm, melody, and emotion meet in the moment.
Their debut release, Live at Zameen House, recording at the 2025 Vancouver International
Jazz festival captures the raw, communal energy of the band.
